Any info on this? I can see that quite often.

Comment 13 Yanko Kaneti 2013-10-26 22:12:19 UTC
A reproducible test case would help.

Reproducer

$ /usr/bin/gnome-epub-thumbnailer Wright.Ch.2006_Krize.konstituce.a.kapital.odt /dev/null

** (gnome-epub-thumbnailer:24531): WARNING **: Could not find cover file in '/home/newman/Documents/A/knihy/Wright.Ch.2006_Krize.konstituce.a.kapital.odt'
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

As it seems I am unable to publish here any of the epubs `gnome-epub-thumbnailer` crashes on. But I can publish this ODT file with the hope that the crash is the same since the WARNING is the same.

Comment 15 Yanko Kaneti 2013-10-27 15:00:53 UTC
Thanks for the reproducer.
I've included an upstream patch that would prevent the crash.
...I am not quite sure why an .odt would match the thumbnailer mime type...

Thanks for the new build Yanko.

It's not that it crashed on any ODT file but that it crashed on EPUB but all epubs I have are (c)'ted, so I found a random file which would suit as a reproducer as well. (Just a clarification.)

I verify it's fixed for me.
