Last modified: 2013-10-15 02:33:29 EDT
Description of problem:
The libhdfs C library works by starting a Java virtual machine and calling out to Java functions in the hadoop-hdfs.jar, but the libhdfs rpm does not have a Requires on the rpm containing the hadoop-hdfs.jar.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
$ rpm -q libhdfs
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have the libhdfs rpm installed but not the hadoop-hdfs rpm
2. Run something that uses libhdfs
3. The Java callouts will fail
