How reproducible:
problem occurs in:
- scrolling in firefox
- playing video in vlc and switch to KDE terminal or another app
- sometimes system hangs, cpu 100%, freeze and hard reboot needed
- sometimes happens if I work with ff or in terminal only (very frustrating)
- freezes for +-5 sec, if video in vlc is playing, sound is still works fine

Steps to Reproduce:
happens in kernel 3.11 and many kernels before

Actual results:
freezes many times in a day

Expected results:
bug will not appear again, because the system is not much usable

Additional info:

Comment 1 Jan Jurko 2013-10-17 16:21:07 UTC
in 3.12.0-rc5 same result

Comment 2 Jan Jurko 2013-10-26 16:55:03 UTC
in opensuse 13.1 problem still remains and there is a newer version of the xorg driver

in the last hour I have 6+ 5sec freezes, hate this :-(

Comment 3 Jan Jurko 2013-11-10 06:48:33 UTC
seems the problem was solved by bios update
