RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description John Sefler 2013-10-18 18:48:08 UTC
Description of problem:
Former RHEL5 and RHEL6 versions of firstboot with rhn-setup-gnome provided a function to skip choosing a server for Red Hat Registration updates.

This same functionality is needed in subscription-manager-firstboot for RHEL7 to skip registration to Red Hat Subscription Management.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
[root@jsefler-7 ~]# rpm -q subscription-manager-firstboot
subscription-manager-firstboot-1.10.4-1.el7.x86_64

Comment 4 Devan Goodwin 2013-11-06 19:27:40 UTC
Workarounds, I have not tested but you can likely drop to a terminal and remove the subscription-manager-firstboot rpm, then re-start firstboot.

The issue is fixed in subscription-manager.git master 96c7d8f9caf9b6da99b7a5f81184caa723608128.

This should be present in RHEL 7 builds by the end of the week. You'll be looking for subscription-manager 1.10.6 or greater.

Verifying Version...

# rpm -q subscription-manager-firstboot firstboot
subscription-manager-firstboot-1.10.6-1.el7.x86_64
firstboot-19.3-1.el7.noarch

VERIFIED: The screenshot demonstrates the ability to skip registration in firstboot.

The screenshot also has some verbage circled in red that should be changed.

The address of an RHN Satellite or RHN Proxy <=== no longer appropriate
The address of a Subscription Management Service <=== matches the next panel
