Description of problem: When I boot my laptop connected to a dock, the second display correctly wakes up and shows the Fedora login screen correctly. Although when I log in - the screen goes black. It's still turned on, but is totally black. The laptop screen works perfectly all the time. My laptop is a T430s with 1600x900 px screen and my second display is a 27" Dell 2713HM with 2560x1440 px. Second display is connected via dock and a Displayport cable. When I open the display settings configuration - I'm able to make the second display working after doing a few steps like: rearranging the screens, changing the resolution, etc. I haven't found the perfect workaround yet. I suspect this is somehow related to the resolution, which is pretty big. This bug welcomes me every time I boot my laptop with a remote screen attached. Plugging out and in the displayport cable doesn't help. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.21.15-4.fc20.x86_64 P.S. Feel free to select a better component, if there is one...
I have the feeling that this bug was introduced in with the below update on my system. I tried to downgrade xorg-x11-drv-qxl, but it didn't help. I found a way to make the second display work: 1. Open display settings 2. Change the resolution of second display to 1900x1200, apply 3. Change the resolution of second display back to 2560x1440, apply Update I mentioned: Loaded plugins: langpacks, refresh-packagekit Transaction ID : 346 Begin time : Wed Oct 23 08:45:56 2013 Begin rpmdb : 2180:1dbecebab2eafc4b0eae4da5f96c0991f96c82de End time : 08:46:23 2013 (27 seconds) End rpmdb : 2180:be27f1e4e38fb5d317b1d583ec351f94ad4e5bee User : Marek Goldmann <goldmann> Return-Code : Success Command Line : update Transaction performed with: Installed rpm-4.11.1-7.fc20.x86_64 installed Installed yum-3.4.3-111.fc19.noarch @updates/19 Installed yum-metadata-parser-1.1.4-9.fc20.x86_64 installed Packages Altered: Updated bluez-5.10-1.fc20.x86_64 @updates-testing Update 5.10-2.fc20.x86_64 @updates-testing Updated bluez-cups-5.10-1.fc20.x86_64 @updates-testing Update 5.10-2.fc20.x86_64 @updates-testing Updated bluez-libs-5.10-1.fc20.x86_64 @updates-testing Update 5.10-2.fc20.x86_64 @updates-testing http://repos.fedorapeople.org/repos/spot/chromium-stable/fedora-20/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] HTTP Error 404 - Not Found Trying other mirror. It seems that this issue was fixed by kernel upgrade to kernel-3.11.6-302.fc20. I don't see this issue anymore.
