Description Pablo Iranzo Gómez 2013-11-26 14:25:17 UTC
Description of problem:

During installation ovirt setup for hosted asks for DC name, but once it's finished, only default appears in the RHEV-M interface.

Comment 1 Sandro Bonazzola 2013-11-26 15:57:40 UTC
Not sure how to handle this, since the data center name here is intended to identify the storage data center where the VM image will be stored.
Since that storage domain should not appear in the manager I think we can just hide the question and use a default value there, avoiding confusion for the user.

Comment 2 Pablo Iranzo Gómez 2013-11-26 16:02:34 UTC
Sandro, probably that's the best option, unless, in the future, it is expected to share the storage (SD) among other VM's.

I will find it very usefull once we can have the hosted using localhost storage (native gluster) so it can be really a fully-contained environment.

Comment 3 Doron Fediuck 2013-11-28 08:54:04 UTC
Pablo, I agree but it will take time to get there.

So for now, we're going to resolve this issue by adding a text to the
installer explaining that this name is internal and will not be visible in the UI.

Comment 4 Sandro Bonazzola 2013-11-29 15:00:12 UTC
Alex, please take care of this.

Comment 5 Sandro Bonazzola 2013-12-02 13:51:03 UTC
patch merged on upstream master and 1.0 branches.
