Description of problem: Input hangs when dragging cells off-screen in Calc when in KDE environment. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Libreoffice 4.1.3.2 kde 4.11.3-1 kernel 3.11.9-200.fc19.x86_64 system fully up to date via yum How reproducible: Every time Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Calc when using kde 2. Select several cells 3. Drag them off-screen Actual results: Input hangs, cursor is still movable but no other window responds. Can recover session by either switching VT or ssh from other machine and killing calc process. Expected results: window would scroll to show off-screen cells. Additional info: Calc works as expected if drag/drop operation is confined to visible cells. Hang occurs only when dragging to cells outside visible window. This only occurs in KDE. I tried the same in Gnome Classic and got expected behavior without any issue so I suspect this is a calc-kde interaction.
With further investigation this issue seems to be directly related to the libreoffice-kde plug-in. Removing this package solves the problem. System fully up to date via yum as of Jan-6-2014. kde: 4.11.4-1.fc20.x86_64 kernel: 3.12.6-300.fc20.x86_64 Additional observations: 1. With libreoffice-kde installed I tried a drag&drop operation and had input freeze as before. After switching to VT2 and then back I saw a jerky completion of the drag&drop operation I had attempted earlier. Depending on how far the drag&drop was attempted it may require several switches in/out to other VT. Each time a VT switch causes some of the drag operation to complete. 2. Removed libreoffice-kde and could not get bug to occur. 3. Bug reoccurs after reinstalling libreoffice-kde Until this bug is resolved best option is to never install libreoffice-kde package.
this should be fixed in 4.2 updates
