Description Robert McSwain 2013-11-27 15:57:31 UTC
Description of problem:
Section 8.13.2.2 "Configuring qxl drivers on virtual machines" states click System -> Administration -> Display, but Display is under Preferences, not Administration and there is no "hardware" tab. It's possible there is a tool not installed with an out-of-the-box installation, but knowing what this application is and documenting it would be helpful

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
RHEV 3.3 Beta Administration Guide, Edition 1

Actual results:
There is no "Hardware" tab in the System -> Preferences -> Display GUI, and there is no "Display" option under System -> Administration.

Expected results:
Documentation either has the proper instructions or includes the package which may not be installed by default on RHEL (tested on 6.5) so it can be installed and instructions may be followed.

I am assigning this bug to Lucy Bopf. She will know whether this part of the documentation has been repaired.

Comment 2 Zac Dover 2014-07-22 15:36:38 UTC
Well, that clearly didn't work.

Comment 4 Andrew Burden 2015-03-25 01:29:27 UTC
This topic for Installing QXL drivers on VMs is in relation to RHEL 5 as of 5.4
QXL drivers are included by default as of RHEL 6.0.

I've amended the topic to read:
"This procedure installs QXL drivers on virtual machines running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4 or higher. This is unnecessary for virtual machines running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.0 and higher as the QXL drivers are installed by default."
