Description Tomas Dolezal 2013-12-02 10:37:00 UTC
Description of problem:
when adding and removing bridges, control-center network does not remove bridge interfaces from the list as may be seen in control center and gnome top bar under networks

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
control-center-3.8.6-1.el7.x86_64
NetworkManager-0.9.9.0-25.git20131108.el7.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. brctl addbr testbr
2. ip link set testbr down
3. brctl delbr testbr
4. repeat

Actual results:
bridge interfaces are added to list, not removed after their removal

Expected results:
control-center shows only interfaces registered in NetworkManager

Additional info:
$ nmcli device status
shows correct list of interfaces

This request was not resolved in time for the current release.
Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to
propose this request, if still desired, for consideration in
the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

I can't reproduce the problem with recent versions, nothing appears after steps 1. and 2.

Comment 4 Tomas Dolezal 2015-04-07 13:38:16 UTC
I've just retested it current 7.1's versions. control-center is in sync with NetworkManager which currently does not show unmanaged devices. if the device is added accordingly to comment 0, it becomes unmanaged thus is not shown.
I tried adding it nmcli and it worked as it should have: invocation of
`nmcli connection add con-name testbr type bridge` led to showing up the device and it disappeared when deleted via nm afterwards.

I think the behaviour is ok now.

control-center-3.8.6-18.el7.x86_64
NetworkManager-1.0.0-14.git20150121.b4ea599c.el7.x86_64
(note that I used KDE for the gnome panel)

Let's consider this fixed then, thanks.
