Comment 1 Sumit Bose 2013-12-10 09:40:51 UTC
RHEL5 contains two different version of samba. A samba-3.0 based one with the package prefix samba and a samba-3.6 based one with the package prefix samba3x.

You filed this ticket against the older version. Is this intended or can the component be changed to samba3x?

Comment 2 Sharuzzaman Ahmat Raslan 2013-12-31 03:56:14 UTC
The customer is currently using samba-3.0 and is not planning to upgrade to samba-3.6.

Thus the patch should be going to samba-3.0

I also believe other people who are using samba-3.6 would appreciate the option in that version as well.

3.0 is a very old version.
The option will not be ported to that version.
Keeping in mind the state of RHEL5 support the customer should consider upgrading to later version(s) of RHEL or at least switch to using samba3x package instead of samba.

Comment 4 Sharuzzaman Ahmat Raslan 2014-01-01 01:57:55 UTC
Understood.

I will propose the customer to upgrade to samba-3.6, with the intention to get the timeout option.

Appreciate if the timeout option could be applied to samba-3.6 soon.

Comment 5 Dmitri Pal 2014-01-02 14:52:44 UTC
Changing the component.

Hi,

Thanks
