Description Adam Williamson 2013-12-12 10:31:39 UTC
This bug is known and fixed upstream:

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=326728

but still affects F20 Final RC1. The app isn't present when installed from live, but is when installed from DVD. If you just go to the menus and launch 'Panorama Stitcher', it crashes. If you invoke it with files somehow, it runs.

This is technically a final blocker, per criterion "All applications that can be launched using the standard graphical mechanism of a release-blocking desktop after a default installation of that desktop must start successfully and withstand a basic functionality test." - https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_20_Final_Release_Criteria#Default_application_functionality

We can discuss it at go/no-go. The fact that we obviously never managed to get around to testing this until the night before go/no-go - the KDE Menus test has been run before, but may only have been done from live installs - kinda indicates that perhaps we don't have the QA resources to entirely stand behind that criterion, but it's up for debate.

It would be great if we could get a build with the upstream fix backported built and submitted to Bodhi ASAP, to give maximum flexibility for the go/no-go meeting.

It's actually intended way how it should be used eg from Digikam (Tools -> Stitch images into a panorama). Still it's visible in menu and should be usable as standalone app if available...

Also for KDE SIG, Live is the recommended installation method.

Build with fix is in progress.

Comment 2 Jaroslav Reznik 2013-12-12 13:13:59 UTC
Should be fixed in digikam-3.5.0-2.fc20 - subpackages kipi-plugins-3.5.0-2.fc20 and kipi-plugins-libs-3.5.0-2.fc20

Comment 7 Kamil Páral 2013-12-12 18:09:46 UTC
Discussed at Go/No-Go meeting on 2013-12-12 [1]. This is a RejectedBlocker. This bug is only relating to DVD installation and the KDE-SIG recommends Live installation. Criteria to be re-evaluated for F21.
