I am unable to activate compression on a server/client setup with less than 1GB Ram in each system creating a two brick replicated setup and using the defaults for compression other than for switching it on. In my syslogs (not the gluster logs), I get the following: Dec 15 14:21:58 localhost GlusterFS[13803]: [2013-12-15 14:21:58.585337] A [mem-pool.h:77:__gf_default_calloc] (-->/usr/lib64/glusterfs/3.5.0qa3/xlator/protocol/client.so(client3_3_readv+0x2ec) [0x7fb43bdd998c] (-->/usr/lib64/libglusterfs.so.0(iobuf_get2+0xa3) [0x7fb4471f8883] (-->/usr/lib64/libglusterfs.so.0(iobuf_get_from_stdalloc+0x60) [0x7fb4471f78a0]))) : no memory available for size (4294967787) What are the memory requirements for compression to work? Thanks, Rich
