Description Jeff Bachtel 2013-12-17 14:59:09 UTC
Description of problem:

When provisioning a new baremetal system, it would be useful to be able to enter system name/fqdn/IP/MAC address/Kickstart profile and have it entered into cobbler's system add interface to allow baremetal PXE provisioning (without resorting to allocating MAC addresses to IP ranges for "Bare Metal Kickstart by IP", which requires at least as much permissions as running cobbler system add on the spacewalk server). This continues the trend of exposing useful Cobbler functionality via the Spacewalk WebUI.

That is a functionality which we are also desperately need.
The above described needed elements looking complete to us to provision a system.
We didnt found the techniacl reason why cobbler Web IF is not compatible with spacewalk. Cobbler Web IF would provide everything which is needed for a integrated workflow of a complete system provision. Maybe integrating the Cobbler Web If could be a fast way to provide a comfortable IF for baremetal installation.
