Named Guided Rule

Description of problem:
Simple naming issue regarding the Guided Rule Editor in BRMS and BPM Suite. I assumed we were going with Decision Logic Editor. If we are keeping it Guided Rule Editor, the docs team needs to know what naming convention we should use. Currently in ER6, the Editor is titled "Guided Rule." We are not sure if this is going to change to Decision Logic Editor or stay the same.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
6.0

How reproducible:
Whenever you run Business Central and open a New Item.

I've not heard anything to suggest a change in name to "Decision Logic Editor". Please let me know what decision is made and we can update the text in the UI accordingly.

What comes of "Guided Rule Template" too? This is effectively the same editor but allows use of "template keys". Should this be renamed "Decision Logic Template Editor"?

Await you advices before proceeding.

The name change to "Decision Logic Editor" was approved by Prakash:

From Nov 21 Email:

"
Sorry for the delay..
Lets go with Decision logic editor as that closely matches business users understanding

Agree. cc'ing Prakash so he can give you the standardized name that you could use for documentation.

Thanks Rajesh..

Correct me if I am wrong but:

Decision logic editor = Gateway Logic Editor = Constraint Logic Editor

The same thing has been called by so many names, it is very confusing!

Adding Rajesh in to the cc list.

This ticket did not make 6.0.0.GA cut. Will it remain as "Guided Rule Editor", or should we change this for 6.0.1.GA?

Comment 8 Kris Verlaenen 2015-01-08 20:58:51 UTC
Isn't decision logic editor the editor in designer to define constraints for gateways? This imho doesn't have anything to do with the guided rule editor. This editor is simply called "editor" in the UI tooling (when you try to edit a constraint for a gateway by selecting the sequence flow and editing the constraint property).

If the name needs to be changed, this should imho only happen in the documentation.

Comment 9 Vikram Goyal 2015-01-14 02:03:42 UTC
Agree with Kris. Decision Logic Editor != Guided Rule Editor.

No changes need to be done in Docs afaik.

Closing this bug.
