Created attachment 842146 [details] firewall-config GUI Description of problem: Whenever you launch firewall-config (from cmdline or GNOME Shell) it always open maximized (horizontally). I have a 1920x1080 monitor and it is really annoying. So far this is the only GUI app I see with this behaviour on a fully updated Fedora 20 system. It doesn't matter if you resize the window...the next time it will open maximized. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): firewall-config-0.3.8-1.fc20.noarch How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. firewall-config 2. 3. Actual results: window opens maximized (horizontally) Expected results: window should remember its window dimensions Additional info:

This upstream change fixes the problem for me: https://git.fedorahosted.org/cgit/firewalld.git/commit/?id=dbafa167137c8173e7d4191ffe0f371828cfed13 You can test it too if you want. Edit (as root) /usr/share/firewalld/firewall-config.glade on line 2032 replace width_request with default_width, save the file and run firewall-config. Does it help ?
Hi, Yes, that worked. Thanks. It would be great it it could remember its previuos dimensions (just like the rest of GNOME apps) and not have hard-coded values...but that's another issue different than the original bug. Thanks.
