Description Ilanit Stein 2014-01-12 06:38:40 UTC
Description of problem:

On a setup with 8 VMs run on host_1, and 8 VMs run on host_2,
start VM migration for one VM from host_1 to host_2.
While migration in process, run initctl stop libvirtd, on host_2.

VMs running on host_2, started migration, but there was NO audit log on that.
When migration completed, there was event:

2014-Jan-09, 16:07
Migration completed (VM: POOLTEST-2, Source: host19-rack06.scale.openstack.engineering.redhat.com, Destination: host20-rack06.scale.openstack.engineering.redhat.com, Duration: 3 sec).

not sure I understand what are you saying. What exactly was the expected result? And which VM it was?

Expected result:
===============
There should be A START migration event.

Expected result, in more details:
================================
There are cases, in which VM migration is not initiated by user,
like the case described in this bug, of VM migration that start "automatically" as a result of the libvirt failure, in which event on START VM migration is missing.

VM name:
=======
POOLTEST-2
(It is mentioned in the event in description.)

Comment 6 Michal Skrivanek 2014-01-13 15:39:38 UTC
there are quite a few NPEs in the log…Arik?

Comment 7 Michal Skrivanek 2014-01-14 14:16:55 UTC
NPE are going to be solved by bug 1048790

Comment 8 Michal Skrivanek 2014-01-14 14:19:18 UTC

Can you please explain why this bug is a duplicate of bug 1051854?

Comment 10 Michal Skrivanek 2014-03-18 11:57:07 UTC
hm, don't really remember:-) I hope it's not a wrong number…I think we just figured out verbally with Omer

Comment 11 Ilanit Stein 2014-09-01 11:09:38 UTC
After checking the issue with ofrenkel, concluded that this bug might be resolved. Need to reproduce on 3.5.
