Description of problem: Started the program LyX and this error came about. I'm not sure if it still works or not because I didn't trust it after starting it so I closed the program and went old-school LaTeX with emacs. That error is harmless. In any case it is a bug that I will report to lyx-devel mailing list. Two questions: 1) do you have /usr/bin/chktex installed? It comes in the texlive-chktex-bin package. 2) What is the content of ~/.lyx/configure.log ? Thank you for the bug report.
