Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Stanislaw Gruszka 2014-01-13 11:18:49 UTC
Description of problem:
We classified myri10ge driver as obsolete and removed it from RHEL7 (bug 980127). Perhaps that decision was wrong and there are RHEL7 (and CentOS 7 :-) users that need this driver.

Comment 6 Myricom 2014-01-21 05:30:21 UTC
Hello Red Hat team,

Thanks for creating this ticket. What should we do to move forward? We can run necessary testing, port the upstream driver to RHEL 7 kernel, and so on.

Comment 7 Stanislaw Gruszka 2014-01-21 16:11:48 UTC
Hi Myricom,

For know I will enable driver like it is on 3.10 kernel, as that was originally requested in this bug report.

On upstream I can see only one valuable patch: "0dde802 myri10ge: Add support for ndo_busy_poll" . If there is need to add it to RHEL7.0 (together with some other patches eventually), please open separate request for that.

Regarding testing, when this patch will be committed (bug state will change to ON_QE) you could get official kernel. If you want to test earlier, I can provide you test kernel with patch for this bug.

Docs need to be updated to remove this driver as being removed from the release, as it is being re-added.

Comment 10 Jarod Wilson 2014-01-28 15:18:11 UTC
Patch(es) available on kernel-3.10.0-80.el7

Comment 12 Myricom 2014-01-31 00:05:05 UTC
Hello Red Hat,

We really like to backport "0dde802 myri10ge: Add support for ndo_busy_poll" to the RHEL 7 driver. Following Gruszka's instructions, we created a separate request, bug 1059561. Thanks!

Hello Red Hat, we utilize Myricom cards in some of our systems and would like to obtain kernel-3.10.0-80.el7. How can we get this test kernel since it's not available on the official beta channel yet?

Mike, I do not think we have plans to release any additional public kernels until the release of RHEL7.

Andy, there's no way we can get a early release kernel just for testing?
