Description Petter Reinholdtsen 2014-01-14 13:56:37 UTC
I was unable to find RHEV as a bugzilla product, so I try to report it here instead. Please pass it on if that is most appropriate.

According to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=693645 ,
it is possible to disable cut and paste in SPICE on the server side, by specifying something like this -spice port=5932,disable-ticketing,disable-copy-paste when starting kvm.

But I am unable to find a way to do this in RHEV. We want to disable cut and paste to reduce the chance of spreading sensitive data. Can RHEV support this, or be extended to support this?

We are currently using RHEV 3.2.1-0.39.el6ev.

Please consider opening a support ticket with Red Hat Support.
currently, this would be possible via a custom hook.

for more information on custom hooks, please see:
http://www.ovirt.org/VDSM-Hooks
http://www.ovirt.org/VDSM-Hooks_Catalogue
http://gerrit.ovirt.org/gitweb?p=vdsm.git;a=tree;f=vdsm_hooks;

if you are interested in this as a temporary solution:
- if you can develop it on your own, we'd appreciate if you can contribute it to the repo mentioned above (for code review, and usage by others in the community)
- if you can't write your own custom hook, ping back on this bug and we'll add one to the repo mention above

custom hooks provide an alternatives as workaround until a feature is available in an integrated manner.

Hi there,
We have a solutions for this in our knowledge base article:
https://access.redhat.com/site/solutions/406693

Please see if it answers your question.
And if you need more help - please open a support case, we will be glad to work our this issue with you.
There is also a private RFE opened on this. Once we will have your case open on this subject, we would be able to it to the RFE.
