Description of problem: Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Linux version 3.12.7-300.fc20.x86_64 (mockbuild.fedoraproject.org) (gcc version 4.8.2 20131212 (Red Hat 4.8.2-7) (GCC) ) but also for kernel 3.12.6-300 How reproducible: Starting Stellarium. Or starting ArgyllCMS with DispcalGUI; also when ArgyllCMS was started in previous session and then starts automatically in the next session. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start one of the upper programs 2. Wait for ca. a half minute 3. Move mouse or enter something into keyboard Actual results: Only hard reboot with kernel 3.11.10-301 is posible, because there is enough time to remove argyllCMS. Expected results: Additional info: I use ASUS A53S with i5 core, 8GB ram, NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M, Fedora 20 KDE
If this worked with kernel-3.11.10 and not with kernel-3.12.x, this is clearly a kernel bug, reassigning.
Please post the contents of dmesg from both a 3.11 and 3.12 based fresh boot. Was there anything else updated between when you had the 3.11 kernel and when you updated to 3.12?

Yes it seems to be a kernel bug. I tested it again with argyllcms for kernel 3.11 and 3.12. The system works fine with kernel 3.11. With kernel 3.12 either no entries are possible or only keyboard is not available and the mouse speed and other settings for the mouse were set to default. I didn't updated anything else between the kernel update. I also had this problem in fc19 wehn updated to 3.12.
Still existing under 3.12.8
Still existing under 3.12.10.301 Problem changed a bit: - still existing under Stellarium - problem changed from argyllcms to the gui of argyllcms: DispcalGUI
Stellarium works fine under new kernel 3.13.3
