Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description xingge 2014-01-17 07:10:47 UTC
Description of problem:
Subscription Manager Manual "Launching Red Hat Subscription Manager" chapter not specify how to lauch rhsm in rhel7.x build.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
RHEL7.0

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open subscription-manager-gui
2.Open Subscription Manager Manual with "Help->Getting Started"
3.Click "Launching Red Hat Subscription Manager" to open this chapter.

Actual results:
The chapter is like below:
Launching Red Hat Subscription Manager
Red Hat Subscription Manager is listed as one of the administrative tools in the System => Administration menu in 6.x and in the Applications => System Tools menu in 5.x. <------note that there is not method to open rhsm gui in rhel7.x

Expected results:
The method to open rhsm gui in rhel7.x should be added. And for it is the same with rhel5.x so that I think the doc should like below:

Launching Red Hat Subscription Manager
Red Hat Subscription Manager is listed as one of the administrative tools in the System => Administration menu in 6.x and in the Applications => System Tools menu in 5.x and 7.x. <-----just add the "7.x"

Comment 2 Bryan Kearney 2014-03-19 20:51:02 UTC
Moving bugs from 7.0 to 7.1

Comment 4 Chris Snyder 2014-07-16 17:19:44 UTC
should be in as of commit: dfe44132e21704414f7b5b682998de8792333b0a

on github: https://github.com/candlepin/subscription-manager/commit/dfe44132e21704414f7b5b682998de8792333b0a

Comment 5 Bryan Kearney 2014-07-30 19:23:59 UTC
Acking 7.1

Comment 8 Rehana 2014-12-02 10:22:15 UTC
Retested on ,

subscription-manager-gui-1.13.9-1.el7.x86_64
subscription-manager-1.13.9-1.el7.x86_64
subscription-manager-firstboot-1.13.9-1.el7.x86_64
python-rhsm-1.13.8-1.el7.x86_64

Now the method to open rhsm gui in rhel7.x is added in "Launching Red Hat Subscription Manager" section of subscription-manager gui help

Red Hat Subscription Manager is listed as one of the administrative tools in the System => Administration menu in 6.x and in the Applications => System Tools menu in 5.x and 7.x.
^^^ 7.x is added in subscription-manager GUI help Doc

Marking Verified!!
