Doc Type: Bug Fix
Doc Text:
Previously, if 'list jobs' was run from rhevm-shell while there were virtual machines migrating, then the target host was listed as 'UNKNOWN' even though the engine logs provided the correct target host name. Now, in order to see the target host name, you must select a specific host for the migration. Otherwise, the target host is not listed.

Comment 1 Juan Hernández 2014-01-20 19:34:09 UTC
The CLI gets this description from the SDK, which in turn gets it from the backend, so if there is an issue it is in the backend, not in the API.

Comment 2 Juan Hernández 2014-01-20 19:35:51 UTC
Michal, can you take a look?

Comment 3 Michal Skrivanek 2014-01-22 14:10:36 UTC
shahar, you adressed couple of these before, maybe related...?

Comment 4 Shahar Havivi 2014-03-18 15:26:55 UTC
*** Bug 965617 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***

Comment 6 Ilanit Stein 2014-04-30 05:43:57 UTC
Tested on av7. The destination host in not displayed at all now.

Shahar,
Is it OK?

[RHEVM shell (connected)]# list jobs

id : 8853de78-ec33-4583-bca0-e25a6f7b2134
description: Migrating VM POOL-1

Comment 7 Shahar Havivi 2014-04-30 08:10:01 UTC
Please select destination host to migrate to and look at the message

Comment 8 Ilanit Stein 2014-04-30 09:29:22 UTC
Retested on av7, with VM migration to a specific host:

[RHEVM shell (connected)]# list jobs

id : e7c462f7-2338-4ef1-aa75-83a97bbd0dc1
description: Migrating VM POOL-1 to Host Non interactive user

As the target host name do not appear moving to Failed_QA

Comment 9 Michal Skrivanek 2014-05-02 10:06:31 UTC
Ilanit, I mistakenly put it ON_QA based on MODIFIED state…but looking at the gerrit this was never merged to 3.4 branch.
Shahar, aren't we missing a backport?

Comment 10 Shahar Havivi 2014-05-04 07:29:33 UTC
(In reply to Michal Skrivanek from comment #9)
Yes,
It did not make it to 3.4.
I will post a patch

Comment 11 Shahar Havivi 2014-05-04 08:59:10 UTC
patch posted for 3.4
http://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/c/27342/

patch 2c52495976cbf0d99979c02380a51762d41e9feb change the "Unknow" to "Non interactive user" - it doesn't look good for Host...

Comment 12 Michal Skrivanek 2014-05-05 13:53:53 UTC
now finally modified in ovirt-engine-3.4

Comment 13 Ilanit Stein 2014-05-13 07:27:07 UTC
Verified on AV9:

In order to see the target host name, need to select specific host for the migration.
Otherwise the target host is not mentioned

There is a separate bug for this inconsistency, bug 1092924
