Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 1057502
CVE-2014-0020 pidgin: DoS in IRC protocol plugin due to arguement parsing
Last modified: 2015-11-24 10:41:57 EST
A Denial-of-Service flaw was found in the way the IRC protocol plugin of pidgin handled IRC arguments. A malicious server or man-in-the-middle could trigger a crash in libpurple by sending a message with fewer than expected arguments.
Red Hat would like to thank the Pidgin project for reporting this issue. Upstream acknowledges Daniel Atallah as the original reporter of this issue.
