Description of problem: pure on epel6 requires update because of llvm-3.4-4.el6 and pure-0.55 on epel6 is build against old llvm.
Sure; I'm adding llvm to the buildroot overrides and will try rebuilding the Fedora version of Pure then
Neither pure 0.55 nor pure 0.58 builds against the combination of LLVM 3.4 and the libstdc++ shipped on EL6: pure 0.55: http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//work/tasks/5969/6465969/build.log pure 0.58: http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//work/tasks/5931/6465931/build.log As such I don't think it'd be possible to maintain pure in EL6 unless a compat LLVM package is provided or LLVM's own c++ library is available. I suggest making LLVM on EL6 obsoletes pure up to version 0.55 (the last version in EL6)
Sure. But it's better you handle this with llvm maintainer. I only create this bug because I noticed unsatiesfied dependency with current pure. I'm not using pure so this doesn't really matter for me.
Good suggestion, I've notified the contributor who's working on the EPEL rebuild
