Description of problem: After latest kernel update (3.12.10-300 to 3.13.3-201) fedora coudln´t find the battery on my ASUS N550JV. After a reboot, the fans went to full speed and didn´t stop until another reboot. Also an orange blinking misbehavior of the battery led started as well, which looks like a common issue on this kind of laptop (http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=294017). Also, the battery didn´t get charged since then. Resetting the battery solves the problem only temporary. When rebooting with kernel 3.13.3-201 the same bug occurs again. If the system is booted with an older kernel version (like 3.12.10-300) the bug does not occur. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Kernel 3.12.10-300.fc20.x86_64 How reproducible: After resetting the battery and booting with kernel version 3.12.10-300.fc20.x86_64 Steps to Reproduce: 1. Reset battery 2. Boot with kernel 3.12.10-300.fc20.x86_64 3. Actual results: Fan howls and does not slow down. After reboot, battery led starts blinking and the battery can not be charged again. Expected results: Usual system start Additional info:
Please attach the output of dmesg from a fresh boot of both 3.12.10 and 3.13.3.
Created attachment 865153 [details] dmesg output 3.12.10 Output with 3.12.10 -> Battery works normal
Created attachment 865155 [details] dmesg output with 3.13.3 And the output with 3.13.3 -> Same bug occured: Fan howled, battery led is now blinking and battery is not charging, altough charger is connected. So I´ll gonna have to unskrew the bottom of the laptop, reset the battery and boot with the older kernel version again ;)
