Description James Chang 2014-02-21 01:33:05 UTC
Description of problem:
GlusterFS client mount fails when using Oracle Linux Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Tested with glusterfs-3.4.0, glusterfs-3.4.1, glusterfs-3.4.2

How reproducible:
mounting glusterfs volume fails with uek 3.8.13-23.1.1.el6uek.x86_64
mounting glusterfs volume succeeds with RHCK 2.6.32-431.el6.x86_64

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot with UEK kernel 3.8.13-23.1.1.el6uek.x86_64
2. Install required glusterfs client packages to mount vol (glusterfs, glusterfs-fuse)
3. Make sure fuse module is loaded
4. Try to mount glusterfs volume (mount -t glusterfs gfs_server:/gfs_volume /mnt/point)

Actual results:
Mount failed.

Expected results:
Mount succeeds.

Additional info:
Succeeds with RHCK kernel

If it works with a Red Hat kernel but not with an UEK kernel then I suggest you take this up with Oracle.
