ALSA info from alsa-info

Description of problem:

A microphone plugged into the front jack of my desktop produces almost no
signal. I've tried it with arecord, audacity, skype. I can get a little
signal if I shout or blow into the mic.

I frequently used the same microphone with Fedora 19, no problems.

I've played with pavucontrol and alsamixer, to no avail.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Kernel: 3.12.5-302.fc20.x86_64

pulseaudio-4.0-9.gitf81e3.fc20.x86_64

How reproducible:

Try to use the mic with just about any audio application.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run skype, try to make a call.
2. Try to record live audio with arecord.
3. Try to record live audio with audacity.

Actual results:

No signal from the mic.

Expected results:

Good, clear signal from the mic.

Additional info:

I've attached the output of alsa-info

Comment 1 Paul Steckler 2014-02-27 04:26:10 UTC
Checked the mic with other computers, doesn't work. Also tried headset mic through same jack, does work.

So it was a HW issue on my end. Sorry for the false alarm.
