Host Network Quality of Service provides the means to control the traffic of a specific network through a host's physical interface. It is a natural extension of the VM Network QoS feature, which provided the same functionality for a VM network through a VM's virtual interface. This feature was planned for oVirt 3.4, but is postponed until oVirt 3.5. -- http://www.ovirt.org/OVirt_3.4_Release_Notes http://www.ovirt.org/Features/Detailed_Host_Network_QoS
Laura, Can you check with Lior the relevant engineering bug number and add this doc bug to depend on that bug please. Cheers, Julie
Changing status back to 'New' until re-assignment.
this is an automated message. oVirt 3.6.0 RC3 has been released and GA is targeted to next week, Nov 4th 2015. Please review this bug and if not a blocker, please postpone to a later release. All bugs not postponed on GA release will be automatically re-targeted to - 3.6.1 if severity >= high - 4.0 if severity < high
Assigning to Megan for review. Megan - looks like this is in. See the link to the oVirt wiki in the summary above, and new fields in the Hosts > <Host> > Network Interfaces > Setup Host Networks > Edit Network window, and Data Centers > New / Edit Data Center > Quota Mode.
Hi Dan, I've just finished a draft of the additions to the documentation for host network quality of service based on https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1043226 that's currently assigned to you. The draft of the section can be found here: http://file.bne.redhat.com/melewis/RHEV/3.6/Admin_Guide/#sect-Host_Quality_of_Service I also added a step for overriding QoS here: http://file.bne.redhat.com/melewis/RHEV/3.6/Admin_Guide/#Editing_host_network_interfaces Could you please let me know if you think anything needs to expanded or edited? Or this covers what a user needs to do (and understand) to configure QoS correctly? Thanks for your help, Megan
Seems good to me. Two tiny nits: - anchor name "#sect-Host_Quality_of_Service" should include Net or Network. - should you not add a comma after "By configuring host network quality of service"? Martin, would you read the docs as well to see if I have missed something contextually important?
Hi Dan, Thanks for the feedback. I've made both changes. Megan
seems ok to me as well.
