Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because
the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description
Guest launched by virt-viewer over ssh connection will hang after shutdown on remote host
Version:
virt-viewer-0.5.7-7.el7.x86_64
spice-glib-0.20-8.el7.x86_64
spice-server-0.12.4-5.el7.x86_64
spice-gtk3-0.20-8.el7.x86_64
How reproducible:
100%
Steps to Reproduce:
1.On host A,prepare a spice guest.
# virsh list
Id Name State
----------------------------------------------------
45 demo-spice running
2.On host B,use virt-viewer to the guest over ssh connection:
# virt-viewer -c qemu+ssh://10.66.5.145/system demo-spice
3.On host A,shutdown the guest:
# virsh destroy demo-spice
Domain demo-spice destroyed
4.Check virt-viewer console on host B,it will hang there,after you tried to press some key,it will get some warning as below:
Ncat: Broken pipe.
(virt-viewer:15212): GSpice-CRITICAL **: spice_inputs_key_press: assertion `SPICE_CHANNEL(channel)->priv->state != SPICE_CHANNEL_STATE_UNCONNECTED' failed
(virt-viewer:15212): GSpice-CRITICAL **: spice_inputs_key_release: assertion `SPICE_CHANNEL(channel)->priv->state != SPICE_CHANNEL_STATE_UNCONNECTED' failed
5.Retest it with vnc guest,step 4 it will hang there,after use mouse to click the guest,it will quit.
6.Retest the above steps with option --reconnect and shutdown then boot guest on remote host:spice guest console will hang in step 4,vnc guest need use mouse to click it and then it will reconnect.
# virt-viewer -c qemu+ssh://10.66.5.145/system demo-spice --reconnect
Actual results:
As described.
Expected results:
step 4:The guest console will quit.
step 6:The guest console will not hang and reconnect after the guest on remote host booted.
Additional info:
The issue can not be reproduced on rhel6.5,guest console will quit if it has been shutdown on remote host,and for option --reconnect,guest console can reconncet successfully after guest booted on remote host.
Attached the spice log.
