Really redhat-config-printer is our recommended interface.
This bug should be closed with UPSTREAM. Fixing this one is larger than should be taken on by the distribution.
I think it's probably a bug with how our package is built if other distributions already have this.
I can't find Japanese translations anywhere, but I've made cupsd look harder for the translations that *are* available (German and French).
So why don't you translate it?
I'm not a translator. Your original comment indicated that translations were *already available* -- this appears not to be the case.
Red Hat has the translator team. Anyway, I'll find it and try to put in the upstream.
