Description of problem: Reading through this section, I'm not sure what I need to do in Foreman. "The Installation Media page is displayed. An OpenStack RHEL mirror entry already exists by default but the associated path is only provided as an example and must be corrected. The Installation Media page displaying the OpenStack RHEL mirror entry. Figure 4.4. Installation Media Page Click the OpenStack RHEL mirror entry. The Edit Medium page is displayed. Update the Path field to contain the URL of a local installation mirror. These variables can be used in the URL and will be replaced automatically: $arch The system architecture, for example x86_64. $version The operating system version, for example 6.5. $major The operating system major version, for example 6. $minor The operating system minor version, for example 4. Example 4.2. Path http://download.example.com/rhel/$version/Server/$arch/os/" What sorts of systems can I point to? Is this something that Foreman can't do and I have to point to an external system? I just updated the FQDN to match my Foreman system, but I have a feeling I'm supposed to do something else here. Between the default download.example value that Foreman comes preloaded with, and the docs telling me "to update the Path field to contain the URL of a local installation mirror", I'm a bit lost about what exactly needs to change. Does this setting only impact bare-metal installs or do I have to set this up if I want to provision using Foreman in all cases? More context, information, or examples in this section would be much appreciated. Just swapping out the current screenshot of a dummy path for one from an actual working example would help clarify things for me here. Hi Matt, I have added some more detail to the section on Installation Media - http://documentation-devel.engineering.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux_OpenStack_Platform/5/html-single/Installer_and_Foreman_Guide/index.html#sect-Installation_Media Does this provide a little more context as to what is required to set up and installation media? Let me know if you feel some more detail is required and I will see what I can do for you. Kind regards, Andrew

Creating an Installation Media Entry [20070-706093] Removed the 'Summary' formal para block, generalized the opening paragraph and made minor grammatical edits. Removing an Installation Media Entry [41406-691264] Newly created to outline how to delete installation media entries. The following topic was added to provide additional information about setting up an initial installation medium: Preparing an Installation Medium using NFS [41929] Updated the revision history: [39274-684366] NVR ------------------------------ Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux_OpenStack_Platform-Installer_and_Foreman_Guide-5-en-US-5.0.0-20 Moving to ON_QA.
Reviewed. The new (and rewritten) topics give a solid basis for users who want to work with installation media. The overview succinctly defines what an installation medium is, what installation media entries are, and how they can be used. The topics re creating and removing installation media entries are clear and concise. (The topic on creating also includes helpful examples of what HTTP and NFS paths should look like.) The topic on preparing an installation medium using NFS is clearly set out, and follows the same structure as the topic on preparing an installation medium using a web server. I believe that the work outlined here satisfies the bug request. VERIFIED.
