Description of problem:
Tried to add a hsot in the manager and it failed with the following error: "Failed to configure management network on host virt-ecs-05 due to setup networks failure. Failed to configure management network on the host."

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set up manager
2. Attempt to add a host

Actual results:
Could not add host due to network error.

Expected results:
Able to add host without error.

Additional info:
Manually bridged the rhevm network, and was able to add the host.

Can you please describe your 'rhevm' logical network configuration, as well as attach the logs from engine and vdsm?

Hi Nir,

This is Andrew from the RHEV documentation team in Brisbane. I have been investigating this issue with Lucy because I have run into it myself on several occasions.

Extra information is as follows.

This error is encountered when you attempt to add a host to a Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization environment, and occurs at the end of package installation when the Manager attempts to set up the management network.

If you bridge the active network interface on the host manually (editing the network interface in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ethX and adding /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-rhevm) and attempt to re-install the host, the action succeeds.

This issue has been encountered with both oVirt 3.3 environments and RHEV 3.4 environments, but stopped occurring at the start of this week. I suspect the issue may have been fixed along with the following: https://www.mail-archive.com/engine-devel@ovirt.org/msg04255.html

The logs attached are the engine.log of an oVirt installation in which this was encountered.

Please let Lucy or myself know if you require any further information. If this issue has been fixed or appears to be a localized issue, there should be no issue in closing it, but given that several people on our team have experienced this same issue under different circumstances with different builds and hardware, any assistance you could provide would be appreciated.
