Description Pavel Novotny 2014-04-02 11:03:05 UTC
Description of problem:
VMs with Delete Protection enabled cannot be distinguished from a "regular" ones in the VM list. They should have a customized icon indicating they're delete-protected. Similar approach as is currently used for Stateless VMs.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
rhevm-3.4.0-0.12.beta2.el6ev.noarch (av5).

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Along other VMs, create new one with Delete Protection enabled.
2. Try to distinguish it in the VM list.
3.

Actual results:
In the VMs list, delete-protected VM(s) look the same as VMs without Delete Protection, which makes administration a little bit tedious in case or removing the VM(s).

Expected results:
Delete-protected VMs have customized icon in the desktop/server column.

Additional info:

Use case:
1. Have a buch of VMs - for example 50 and random 10 of them are delete-protected.
2. Select 20 VMs (seletion must include some delete-protected ones) and try to remove them at once.
3. Error dialog pops up with names of delete-protected VMs: "<VM name#1>: Cannot remove VM. Delete protection is enabled...<VM name#2>:...". Now you have to memorize these VMs!
4. Disable the Delete Protection on these VMs and remove them again, now successfuly.

The point is that a custom icon would eliminate step 3, because a user will immediately see in VMs list which VMs are delete-protected and must be updated prior deletion.

[even though the BZ is closed, adding this information for completeness]
see attachment 1021759 [details] for a clearer sketch + explanation.
