Description Hin-Tak Leung 2014-04-04 20:12:52 UTC
Description of problem:
suspend/hibernate brings about unsighty messages and call traces about

[ 1082.015041] WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 4537 at fs/sysfs/dir.c:486 sysfs_warn_dup+0x86/0xa0()
[ 1082.015042] sysfs: cannot create duplicate filename '/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq'

Full message example attached.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel-3.13.5-200.fc20.x86_64
kernel-3.13.6-200.fc20.x86_64
kernel-3.13.7-200.fc20.x86_64

gnome-power-manager-3.10.1-1.fc20.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always lately - at least for the kernels above. I only started to collect these recently.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. suspend/hibernate
2. wake up and watch dmesg
3.

Actual results:
unsighty message

Expected results:
no unsightly message

Additional info:
Anything to do with power manager or cpu freq changer which gnome used to have? I had that applet in gnome 2 but it seems not to be in gnome 3 any more.

*********** MASS BUG UPDATE **************

We apologize for the inconvenience. There is a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 20 kernel bugs.

Fedora 20 has now been rebased to 3.14.4-200.fc20. Please test this kernel update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.

Comment 4 Hin-Tak Leung 2014-05-25 03:59:13 UTC
3.14.4-200.fc20 has a worse problem (cannot hibernate - Bug 1094983) so this minor problem reported here with 3.13.x cannot be seen with 3.14.4-200.fc20 .

3.14.4-200.fc20 is even worse.

Comment 5 Hin-Tak Leung 2014-08-06 04:26:24 UTC
both 3.16.0-1.fc21.x86_64 and 3.15.7-200.fc20.x86_64 hibernates without that unsightyy message.
