This appears to be specific to x86_64. I tried the same operation on a laptop running i686, and the problem does not occur.
Reported upstream. Believed to have been solved.
Solved how? Which version? When will that version reach the Fedora repositories? Stating that it is believed to have been solved does not help.
It's not a Fedora bug - I reported it to the lead Xiphos developer and he claimed he solved it. I'm in the process now of packaging the latest upstream release from last week for rawhide. But further tracking of this bug is not useful as this is not a Fedora bug but an upstream Xiphos issue.
Thank you for the additional information. I will be looking for it to hit the repositories.
