+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1076318 +++ Single-click reboot is now a feature of RHEV: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=587774 This bug was raised for changes specific to the Administration Guide. --- Additional comment from Andrew Dahms on 2014-03-25 20:28:29 EDT --- Re-assigning to Lucy. Notes - This change constitutes a new button that can be accessed in the Administration Portal and User Portal. To address this bug, we will need to start a virtual machine, try reboot it using the new button, and add a note as to its function in the Administration Guide and User Guide. We will also have to update the screen captures such as those in this section: http://documentation-devel.engineering.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Virtualization/3.4-Beta/html-single/User_Guide/index.html#sect-Running_Virtual_machines Also, there is a possibility that this function can only work on a data center and cluster with compatibility level of 3.4. Because we are running into some problems creating data centers and clusters with this compatibility level, a bit of troubleshooting could be required first. I will work on this starting Thursday, 27 March. --- Additional comment from lbopf on 2014-03-30 21:04:39 EDT --- Hi Martin, Lucy here from the RHEV docs team in BNE. We have tried to use this feature with 3.4 data center and cluster compatibility; however, in both the User Portal and Admin Portal, the reboot button remains greyed out. Can you help me out with any further advice on the feature? Kind Regards, Lucy Bopf --- Additional comment from Martin Betak on 2014-03-31 06:10:56 EDT --- Hi Lucy, Reboot from the engine works only when there is guest-agent installed and running in the target VM. Could you please check if that is the case? Best regards, Martin --- Additional comment from lbopf on 2014-04-02 01:58:12 EDT --- Thanks, Martin. Have tested and can confirm that the reboot button works when guest-agent installed and running. Updated topics and screen shots in both Administration and User guides to cover the use of this function.
