When trying to open a message which did not belong to the current view filter, a separate message window closed immediately, was opened empty, or a selected message was not shown. This update makes sure that a selected message always belongs to the view filter, thus fixing the bug. Filtered messages are now successfully opened in a separate window.

But it is quite reproduceable even when there is visible only one read message with other messages unread. When I click on the read message, I get empty window which never fills with the text

*** Bug 1103732 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Yes, this seems to be fixed in evolution-3.8.5-22.3.el7_0.x86_64. There is still noticeable delay between opening the window and filling it with text (especially when Evolution is otherwise busy) ... it seems silly when the exactly the same message is shown just fine in the main window of Evo. But generally the message gets displayed and so this bug can be called fixed. Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA.
