Description Udayendu Sekhar Kar 2014-04-30 12:14:51 UTC
Description of problem:
After VM shutdown, Auto-generated snapshot during Live Storage Migration is unable to merge and still there in the snapshot tab. But as per the below link it should merge automatically.

  http://www.ovirt.org/Features/Design/StorageLiveMigration#Pre-Copy_Execution_Diagrams_and_Description

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
rhevm-3.4 beta

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a VM and do the live migration of the disk.
2. Then shutdown the VM and start it
3. Still the autogenerated snapshot during the time of live migration will be there which should not be as per the above link.

Actual results:
After VM shutdown the auto generated snapshot during LSM is not going to merge.

Expected results:
After first vm shutdown it should merge automatically.

Snapshots do not get automatically merged, by design. The diagram referenced in the link shows that when the execution ends, the snapshot will remain.

Once live merge is implemented, we should consider merging this snapshot once the migration is done, but it remains to be seen if this would be supported.
