Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Sachin Ghai 2014-05-06 07:31:52 UTC
Description of problem:
I was trying create errata filter by date and type. So when I tried to save the defined erratum date range ( by selecting start_date and end_date), the page navigates away to new filter page. Ideally on saving the erratum date range, the page should show the the errata_id between the selected range.

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create product/repo with url: http://hhovsepy.fedorapeople.org/fakerepos/zoo4/ and sync it
2. create cv and add the created repo in step1
3. create filter of content-type 'Erratum - by Date and Type'
4. Enter any start/end dates or try this:

start date 10-November-2012 and End date 31-December-2012

Actual results:
The page navigates to new filter page

Expected results:
On save, UI should show all the erratum ids between start and end dates

Since this issue was entered in Red Hat Bugzilla, the release flag has been
set to ? to ensure that it is properly evaluated for this release.

Comment 3 Brad Buckingham 2014-05-16 13:57:30 UTC
When I run this scenario, I see the following:

After the 'errata by date/type' filter is created, the user is returned to the Content->Filters list. Is this what you see? If so, this is the expected behavior for this filter type.

If the user was instead creating an 'errata by id' filter, they do have the option of entering date/type information. This option allows the user to filter on the list of available errata to help them narrow their search for errata that they would like to explicitly add to the filter.

If what you were hoping to see on the 'errata by date/type' filter is the ability to preview which errata will be included in the content view before it is publishe, that should be considered an RFE. We have discussed that in the future, it would be useful to have a preview; however, that is not currently supported.

yes, this is what I'm getting now.

yeah.. being a end-user, I would like to see the preview of filtered errata based on date.. thank you for clarifying it. I would change this to an RFE then.

Comment 5 Sachin Ghai 2014-05-19 07:20:52 UTC
As per comment 3, UI should preview the errata which will be filtered when selecting the filter type 'errata by date/type'. thanks

Comment 8 Bryan Kearney 2017-08-31 17:28:26 UTC
Thank you for your interest in Satellite 6. We have evaluated this request, and we do not expect this to be implemented in product in the forseeable future. We are therefore closing this out as WONTFIX. If you have any concerns about this, please feel free to contact Rich Jerrido or Bryan Kearney. Thank you.
