Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Stephen Benjamin 2014-05-15 11:07:11 UTC
Description of problem:
When using the realm feature of the capsule, rubygem-ffi shipped with sat6 fails to load:

"
LoadError at /realm
no such file to load -- ffi_c

    file: custom_require.rb
    location: gem_original_require
    line: 31
"

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
rubygem-ffi-1.4.0-1.el6sat.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Configure capsule to support FreeIPA realm
2. Try to perform an action on the realm

Actual results:
Get error message above

Additional info:
ffi_c.so is going to the path below:

/usr/lib64/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/x86_64-linux}/lib/ffi_c.so

Looks like that } is causing the problem.

Comment 1 RHEL Program Management 2014-05-15 11:24:58 UTC
Since this issue was entered in Red Hat Bugzilla, the release flag has been
set to ? to ensure that it is properly evaluated for this release.

Comment 3 Stephen Benjamin 2014-05-15 12:28:55 UTC
Also note the correct path should be without the lib subdirectory too:

  /usr/lib64/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/x86_64-linux/ffi_c.so

Fix path of ffi_c.so

Ah so RHEL7 and recent Fedoras need the /lib path for ffi_c.so. This patch makes rubygem-ffi work on RHEL6 and RHEL7.

Comment 6 Jason Montleon 2014-05-22 13:21:34 UTC
Thanks for the patch. Applied and rebuilding now.

Comment 8 Kedar Bidarkar 2014-05-26 09:13:23 UTC
Yes it's fixed as per sat6-beta-snap6

[root@xxxxx ~]# rpm -ql rubygem-ffi-1.4.0-3.el6sat.x86_64 | grep -i ffi_c.so
/usr/lib64/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/x86_64-linux/ffi_c.so

Comment 9 Bryan Kearney 2014-07-02 14:08:06 UTC
This was delivered with 6.0.3, which is the Satellite 6 Beta.
