RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Red Hat Product Errata RHBA-2015:1444 0 normal SHIPPED_LIVE libguestfs bug fix and enhancement update 2015-07-20 18:44:02 UTC

Description Lingfei Kong 2014-05-23 03:25:42 UTC
Description of problem:
When I read guestfish(1), I can find the following line:
Guestfish sets this flag to true when used interactively, so that "^C" can cancel long-running commands gracefully (see "user-cancel").
but i can not find the 'user-cancel' section in guestfish(1)

In fact in rhel6's guestfish there is no 'user-cancle' API, but i can find the 'user-cancle' API in rhel7's guestfish tool

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
libguestfs-1.20.11-3.el6

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
#man 1 guestfish

Actual results:
Can find the following line:
Guestfish sets this flag to true when used interactively, so that "^C" can cancel long-running commands gracefully (see "user-cancel").
And can not find the 'user-cancel' section

Expected results:
API name "user-cancel" should not be in guestfish(1) of rhel6

Actually, 'user-cancel' exists also in RHEL 6, but since it was implemented manually (and not generated using our API generator) it had no documentation associated.
The right fix here is backport the upstream change to make 'user-cancel' automatically generated, so documented as well.

Forgot to change this bug earlier, sorry, changing it now to reflect the actual fixes.

Comment 4 Hu Zhang 2015-03-10 08:32:05 UTC
Verified with the package version:
libguestfs-1.20.11-14.el6.x86_64

Verify steps:
#man guestfish

'user-cancel' section is added in guestfish(1) as below.

user-cancel
        user-cancel

This function cancels the current upload or download operation.
...

So verified.
