Description Morgan Leijström 2014-06-04 15:15:31 UTC
Description of problem:
Restore after hibernate always fail when swap is encrypted.
= lost work.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Kernel 3.14.4-200.fc20.x86_64

How reproducible: Always, on two similar machines: thinkpad R61 and T61

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install fc20 with /home and swap in encrypted LVM
2. hibernate (and my system experience Bug 1100978; need manual power off)
3. power on.

Actual results: like a normal boot = session and work is lost

Expected results: restore

Additional info:

Alternate installations on same machine into regular partitions or in unencrypted LVM i did not experience this.

Sidenote: This system also sometimes fial resuming from suspend, more tests in that bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1096989#c16

Maybe something needed for encryption is missing from booting kernel? Is dracut generating OK? How to get a suitable log of boot?

*********** MASS BUG UPDATE **************

We apologize for the inconvenience. There is a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 20 kernel bugs.

Fedora 20 has now been rebased to 3.17.2-200.fc20. Please test this kernel update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel.

If you have moved on to Fedora 21, and are still experiencing this issue, please change the version to Fedora 21.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.

Comment 2 Justin M. Forbes 2014-12-10 15:01:44 UTC
This bug is being closed with INSUFFICIENT_DATA as there has not been a response in over 3 weeks. If you are still experiencing this issue, please reopen and attach the relevant data from the latest kernel you are running and any data that might have been requested previously.

Comment 3 Morgan Leijström 2014-12-10 15:47:32 UTC
As for the other bug: please if someone could have told what data needed and how to get it...

Now i am on mageia 5 beta, but the problems hibernating is the same so we could join forces.
