Thanks Yaakov. The patch itself looks OK. Could you attach git-formatted[1] pactch instead and use a better description in changelog? (Changelog should say what was changed in the package. "Fix FTBFS" isn't very helpful.) [1] https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/User:Mizdebsk/HowToSubmitPatches

Fixed. protobuf required more cleanup, so I didn't use the patch.
I believe that this bug is fixed in protobuf-2.5.0-9, which is available in Fedora Rawhide, so I am closing this bug now. The build containing the fix can be found at Koji: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=538407
