Description Rich Jerrido 2014-06-12 23:40:42 UTC
Description of problem:
In SAM 1.4 w/ enhanced reporting, When using the 'flatten_orgs = True' option, Organizations are displayed in the UI and reports as 'flattened org ($org_label)'. Users would like to update the names to reflect their department/agency/etc.

This request is to enable a user configurable name for the Organization in /etc/splice/checkin.conf

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
SAM 1.4 / spacewalk-splice-tool-0.50-1.el6sam.noarch

Details of request:

Please provide in checkin.conf an option such as:

[spacewalk_myorg]
type = ssh
orgname = 'My Organization'

# # Spacewalk/Satellite server to use for syncing data.
host=satellite.mydomain.com
# # Path to SSH private key used to connect to spacewalk host.
ssh_key_path=/var/lib/splice/id_rsa-sat
login=swreport
#

This would be viewable in the UI and Reporting.

Additional Information:

The Organizations name *can* be changed via the UI. However, it is overwritten on the next invocation of spacewalk-splice-checkin

Comment 1 Bryan Kearney 2017-06-26 20:32:50 UTC
The release of Satellite 5.8 we are deprecating the support of Subscription Asset Manager. The release notes for 5.8 can be found at https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_satellite/5.8/pdf/release_notes/Red_Hat_Satellite-5.8-Release_Notes-en-US.pdf.

I am therefore closing out this bug as WONTFIX. If you believe this to be an error, please feel free tor each out to either Rich Jerrido or Bryan Kearney. Thank you!
