add Italian "support" to oVirt.
currently the hope is to introduce to ovirt-3.5, depends on the level of translation completion contributed from community (Gianluca).
it seems that the Italian translation completion percentage is not high enough to justify making the Italian locale available in ovirt at this point, therefore for now I am targeting this BZ for ovirt-3.6.
Italian is now at 50% completion, if completion will be sufficient in the upcoming months, we will consider including Italian in oVirt-3.6.
Ok, thanks. I will try to get to 75% so that we can have it included. I see that Jenkins job are here so I can also grab generated rpm an verify ongoing status. Gianluca
Hi Gianluca, progress on this?
Just revamped my zanata connection... I would like to make some work in this direction the next 10 days, so we can see at the end of August where I am. Can I work on master, as I see no 3.6 branch yet?

Maybe zanata is not aligned yet. Einav?

Hi Gianluca, yes - for now, please work on the 'master' version of the 'oVirt' project in Zanata. [thanks, Sandro]
Ok. Let'see the percentage a the end of this week. I plan to work hard on it between tomorrow and Saturday
I am now at 61% and I plan to reach 75% at the end of this week.
Einav, looking at https://translate.zanata.org/zanata/iteration/view/ovirt/master/languages/it Gianluca reached 76%, chance we'll have Italian in 3.6?
Hopefully I'm going to translate more content during this weekend, so if you can wait some days before a 3.6 branch I could work only on master... Thanks Gianluca

[we need to introduce it to 'master' (4.0) first anyway, so let's start with that].

In any case - Zanata 3.7.1 has a great new 'merge translations' feature; so even if we would somehow eventually decide to include Italian in oVirt-3.6, I would be able to easily merge the relevant translations from the 'master' version to the (to-be-created) 'ovirt-3.6' version, which would result in a very similar Italian-translation-completion-percentage for 3.6 as well. Many thanks for your ongoing contributions, Gianluca - they are truly appreciated!
Einav, can you please refresh (and merge?) the attached patches so master will start getting feedback from Italian users?
(In reply to Sandro Bonazzola from comment #15) > Einav, can you please refresh (and merge?) the attached patches so master > will start getting feedback from Italian users? patches sent (moving to POST). once merged - will move BZ to MODIFIED.
Thanks. Does this mean that I can test simply using: yum install http://resources.ovirt.org/pub/yum-repo/ovirt-release-master.rpm and then proceed the normal way?

Adding any language support in any package itself is the i18n task. So, adding 'i18n' keyword.
Hello, anything to do at my side? I can say that I verified that in version 4.0 I can select Italian in both user and web admin portals and that then I get italian phrasing inside the GUI functionality. I'm going to test 4.0.2 rc4 too and compare. Though I have not understood what is the frequency of refresh of language translation state into released versions. Now I'm at 94.01% of translation. If I complete suppose at the end of August, what will then be the version of oVirt with applied changes inside? The same in case surfing through the functionalities I see some errors to correct. Thanks, Gianluca
Tested on 4.0.2.4-0.1.el7ev environment and verified that Admin/User Portals are now localized into Italian, including the landing page and the new dashboard tab. Moving the status to VERIFIED.
