Description of problem: On update R-java with yum gives me a list of packages to newly install. *The machines have installed Oracle-Java and openjdk rpms. yeah, there doesn't appear to be any reason to explicitly require java-1.5.0-gcj explicitly, should just require java. Tom - shall I make the change?
Yeah. "java" should be a sufficient Requires for that subpackage. If you could go ahead and make that update for all targets, it would be helpful.
Tom - I've checked it in and am building for F21/F22, but I don't know how you want to back-port the changes to the other branches, so I'll leave that to someone else.
People, I have interest on EL6 on this package. I've removed all the permissions from my FAS account when I retired a few years ago, so I can't make this changes also. Orion, could you please be kind enough to backport into EL6 and EL5? I do have also some interest in this change. For me to commit this I need probably a new packaging sponsor for a one time change... According to our in-house dependency check tool, it should be OK for EL5 and EL6. http://paste.opensuse.org/60696389 http://paste.opensuse.org/14733665 Kindest Regards... Nelson Marques
