Description of problem: Fedora 20 KDE All I did was turn the computer on. It crashed once it loaded the desktop. Showed lots or RADEON errors. Even with previous versions of Fedora, I have never been able to get the dedicated graphics card working. GPU = ATI Radeon HD 5650 Mobility. (Off subject) Any tips on how to make the high graphics GPU actually work would be greatly appreciated. : ) Additional info: reporter: libreport-2.2.2 BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request at ffff88024cba5000 IP: [<ffffffffa01ecb6a>] radeon_ring_write+0x2a/0x60 [radeon] PGD 201b067 PUD 201e067 PMD 24d328063 PTE 800000024cba5161 Oops: 0003 [#1] SMP Modules linked in: tun ccm bnep bluetooth 6lowpan_iphc ip6t_rpfilter ip6t_REJECT xt_conntrack ebtable_nat ebtable_broute bridge stp llc ebtable_filter ebtables ip6table_nat nf_conntrack_ipv6 nf_defrag_ipv6 nf_nat_ipv6 ip6table_mangle ip6table_security ip6table_raw ip6table_filter ip6_tables iptable_nat nf_conntrack_ipv4 nf_defrag_ipv4 nf_nat_ipv4 nf_nat nf_conntrack iptable_mangle iptable_security iptable_raw arc4 iwldvm mac80211 iwlwifi cfg80211 snd_hda_codec_idt snd_hda_codec_generic snd_hda_intel snd_hda_codec snd_hwdep snd_seq coretemp kvm snd_seq_device snd_pcm snd_timer snd uvcvideo videobuf2_vmalloc videobuf2_memops videobuf2_core videodev iTCO_wdt iTCO_vendor_support hp_wmi sparse_keymap rfkill i2c_i801 joydev lpc_ich mfd_core media serio_raw soundcore microcode intel_ips hp_accel lis3lv02d mei_me input_polldev shpchp mei wmi acpi_cpufreq nfsd auth_rpcgss nfs_acl lockd sunrpc binfmt_misc dm_crypt hid_logitech_dj radeon crct10dif_pclmul crc32_pclmul crc32c_intel i915 ttm ghash_clmulni_intel i2c_algo_bit drm_kms_helper drm r8169 mii i2c_core video CPU: 3 PID: 1246 Comm: X Not tainted 3.14.7-200.fc20.x86_64 #1 Hardware name: Hewlett-Packard HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC/144A, BIOS F.29 11/07/2011 task: ffff88024d162f80 ti: ffff88009644e000 task.ti: ffff88009644e000 RIP: 0010:[<ffffffffa01ecb6a>] [<ffffffffa01ecb6a>] radeon_ring_write+0x2a/0x60 [radeon] RSP: 0000:ffff88009644fc20 EFLAGS: 00010202 RAX: ffff88024cba5000 RBX: ffff880097039290 RCX: 0000000000020001 RDX: ffff88024cb25000 RSI: 0000000000003dbd RDI: ffff880097039290 RBP: ffff88009644fc30 R08: ffff88009644e000 R09: 0000000000001ec2 R10: 00000000ffffffff R11: 0000000000001f11 R12: 0000000000003dbd R13: ffff880097039290 R14: 0000000000000000 R15: ffff880097039290 FS: 00007fbed83d79c0(0000) GS:ffff88025bcc0000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 CR2: ffff88024cba5000 CR3: 0000000096325000 CR4: 00000000000007e0 Stack: ffff880097038000 ffff880097038000 ffff88009644fc68 ffffffffa028e7b1 ffff880097038000 0000000000000000 ffff880097039290 00000000000000e3 0000000000001010 ffff88009644fc90 ffffffffa028e544 ffff880097038000 Call Trace: [<ffffffffa028e7b1>] uvd_v1_0_ring_test+0x51/0x140 [radeon] [<ffffffffa028e544>] uvd_v1_0_init+0xa4/0x1b0 [radeon] [<ffffffffa0227088>] evergreen_startup+0x18e8/0x1900 [radeon] [<ffffffffa02270e9>] evergreen_resume+0x49/0xa0 [radeon] [<ffffffffa01bc43d>] radeon_resume_kms+0x9d/0x270 [radeon] [<ffffffffa01ba150>] radeon_pmops_runtime_resume+0x70/0xa0 [radeon] [<ffffffff8139529b>] pci_pm_runtime_resume+0x7b/0xc0 [<ffffffff8145de75>] vga_switcheroo_runtime_resume+0x35/0x40 [<ffffffff81470fb1>] __rpm_callback+0x31/0x80 [<ffffffff81471024>] rpm_callback+0x24/0x80 [<ffffffff81472006>] rpm_resume+0x496/0x6a0 [<ffffffff8147225f>] __pm_runtime_resume+0x4f/0x80 [<ffffffffa01ba039>] radeon_drm_ioctl+0x39/0x90 [radeon] [<ffffffff811fd0f0>] do_vfs_ioctl+0x2e0/0x4a0 [<ffffffff811fd331>] SyS_ioctl+0x81/0xa0 [<ffffffff81121eb6>] ? __audit_syscall_exit+0x1f6/0x2a0 [<ffffffff81700869>] system_call_fastpath+0x16/0x1b Code: 00 66 66 66 66 90 55 48 89 e5 41 54 41 89 f4 53 8b 47 40 48 89 fb 85 c0 7e 27 8b 43 30 48 8b 53 08 8d 48 01 48 8d 04 82 89 4b 30 <44> 89 20 8b 43 64 83 6b 40 01 21 43 30 83 6b 3c 01 5b 41 5c 5d RIP [<ffffffffa01ecb6a>] radeon_ring_write+0x2a/0x60 [radeon] RSP <ffff88009644fc20> CR2: ffff88024cba5000

This message is a reminder that Fedora 20 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 20. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '20'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 20 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Fedora 20 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2015-06-23. Fedora 20 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
