Description Ventsislav Genchev 2003-12-03 15:17:49 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.5) Gecko/20031031

Description of problem:
Here is the error code I get

btw syslog reports it comes from the kernel, so I'm not shure if this
is actually a XFree86 bug

Actually I've managed to reproduce the crash few times...

Here is what I've did.

1. Opened my Mozilla 1.5
2. Visited http://info.redhat.com/a/hA-16fKAJPSNNAO8ctcAK7a1nFw/utbd3
to read about Red Hat's Jeremy Hogan interview..
3. While the page was still loading, and some of the images weren't
downloaded yet, I changed to Console (text) mode by pressing Alt+Ctrl+F1
4. Slam... The X crashed and those error messages started ..

[drm:i830_wait_ring] *ERROR* space: 130968 wanted 131064
[drm:i830_wait_ring] *ERROR* lockup
[drm:i830_wait_ring] *ERROR* space: 130960 wanted 131064
[drm:i830_wait_ring] *ERROR* lockup

5. After 5 to 15 seconds the graphical environment was restarted..

Comment 2 Mike A. Harris 2003-12-11 13:00:12 UTC
The error messages seem to indicate that this is a kernel DRM issue.
Please attach your X server log, config file, and /var/log/messages
as individual uncompressed file attachments using the file attachment
link below.

Reassigning to kernel component.

Thanks for the bug report. However, Red Hat no longer maintains this version of
the product. Please upgrade to the latest version and open a new bug if the problem
persists.

The Fedora Legacy project (http://fedoralegacy.org/) maintains some older releases,
and if you believe this bug is interesting to them, please report the problem in
the bug tracker at: http://bugzilla.fedora.us/
