Description of problem: I tried the LibreOffice writer2latex extension on several ODT and DOC files. After asking for input concerning the the sort of latex to produce, LibreOffice always hangs (and consumes all the CPU power). It tried writer2latex separate from LibreOffice (it is a jar file) and it worked. Then I removed the fedora rpm and replaced it with the writer2latex.oxt file on the LibreOffice website, and that also worked. However, the latter extension doesn't ask for characteristic for latex production and it seems the code is different. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 1.0.2-11 How reproducible: Just use the export menu item from the File menu and select LaTeX 2e as output format (file type .tex). Steps to Reproduce: 1. Select any odt or doc file by LibreOffice writer 2. Select Export with LaTeX 2e as file type from the File menu 3. A menu will appear with latex output characteristics Actual results: LibreOffice hangs (and the is no production of a latex file). Expected results: latex file with same name as the original file but with .tex extension. Additional info: I tried this on several odt and doc file and LibreOffice always hangs.
Cannot reproduce. I tried to export a couple of simple testing documents and everything worked fine. Could you move ~/.config/libreoffice/4/user/registrymodifications.xcd away temporarily and try again, in case the hang up is caused by a non-default value for one of the LaTeX export options? And if the export works after that, could you attach the .xcd file here?
Created attachment 913713 [details] registrymodifications.xcu Attached LibreOffice registry file.
I have moved ~/.config/libreoffice/4/user/registrymodifications.xcd out of the way and get the same result. I have been using the default options of writer2latex but I have now also changed some of the options and I get the same hanging behaviour of LibreOffice (which consumes all CPU power). Peter
caolanm->sbergman: can you have a look at this and see if you can reproduce
