How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install nagios-server-addon 0.1.4.2 on RHS node and start monitoring some hosts and configure nagios for email and snmp notifications.
2. Now update that to 0.1.5-1 by adding right channels and do an yum update.

All the above configuration made for email and snmp are overriden.

Expected results:
Email and snmp configurations should not be overriden.

Comment 1 Kanagaraj 2014-07-03 05:35:56 UTC
Do we have a list of file names which gets overridden?

Comment 2 RamaKasturi 2014-07-03 06:59:38 UTC
I could see the following files getting overriden as of now when i update gluster-nagios-addons and nagios-server-addons.

/etc/nagios/gluster/gluster-templates.cfg
/etc/nagios/gluster/gluster-contacts.cfg
/etc/nagios/gluster/snmpmanagers.conf
/etc/nagios/nrpe.cfg

Will update the bug if i see any thing more.

Comment 3 Ramesh N 2014-07-14 04:58:45 UTC
Overwriting config files in the nagios server side is aready fixed in upstream with patch http://review.gluster.org/#/c/8220/. But I am not sure about what is getting overriden in nrpe.cfg file.

nrpe.cfg is a config file in node side. We have simila bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1107997 for nagios_server.conf getting overriden. May be we can track the issue with node side rpms (gluster-nagios-addons) in the above bug.

Comment 4 RamaKasturi 2014-07-14 05:33:34 UTC
please ignore nrpe.cfg file from here as it is a config file in node side. Will update the bug below with the files which gets overriden on node side.

From kanagaraj, i understand that these bugs have been moved to on_qa by errata.

Since QE has not yet received the build i am moving this bug back to assigned state. Please move it on to on_qa once builds are attached to errata.

Comment 8 RamaKasturi 2014-11-12 10:33:44 UTC
Verified and works fine with build nagios-server-addons-0.1.8-1.el6rhs.noarch.

Email and snmp files are not getting overriden.

Following are the files which are not getting overriden on upgrading nagios-server-addons.
/etc/nagios/gluster/gluster-templates.cfg
/etc/nagios/gluster/gluster-contacts.cfg
/etc/nagios/gluster/snmpmanagers.conf
